Learning English from Movies: An Exploratory Study

The sources of second language acquisition vary and depend on a learner’s preferences choices; however, undoubtedly, the most effective methods provide authentic input. This current study explores effectiveness watching movies as means English acquisition. It university students’ views impact this method in improving skills. participants were 74 students (25 males 49 females) from Department Language Translation at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. Data for research collected questionnaires individual interviews with several selected students. findings showed that many watch frequently various purposes, important which is entertainment. also admitted help them acquire great deal vocabulary develop their listening writing Also, believed exposure to target by native speakers helps enhance fluency proficiency. learn not only linguistic aspects films but other aspects, such culture, lifestyle, ways thinking, addition learning languages Spanish.
